The World Congress on Specialized Translation “Languages and Intercultural Dialogue in a Globalizing World” is organized by the Unión Latina jointly with Maaya – The World Network for Linguistic Diversity), with the support of Cuba’s Center for Translation and Interpretation (ESTI), the Cuban Association of Translators and Interpreters (ACTI), and the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC), and sponsored by UNESCO, Itaú Cultural (Brasil), the Instituto Cubano del Libro and the University of La Habana, among other institutions. The Congress will be host, in the touristic Vedado district (a few minutes from the historic centre of Havana), to about 300 translators and language specialists from all over the world, who will participate in about 60 presentations during 6 days.
The technology and bibliography showcase will be located in a hall next to the Plenary Hall (Salón Embajadores of the Habana Libre Hotel). This room, over its ca. 100 m2 capacity, can accommodate up to ten exhibitors. Coffee breaks will take place near the showcase room to insure that a maximum number of participants may enjoy the exhibits. Each exhibitor will be allocated a stand of about 4 m2, with tables, chairs, and power outlets. Wireless internet connections will also be available for an extra fee*. The showcase will be open 9:00 a.m. — 6:00 p.m. each day of the Congress. Access is included in the registration, all registered congress participants can visit the stands.
Showcase registration fee is 1,800 euros and includes:
October 31, 2008: Deadline for exhibitor’s registration and payment of the total amount due. November 7, 2008: Notification of allocation of exhibit space.

(*) The cost of internet connection is 30 Euros per day for each computer. The organizers do not guarantee the reliability of the connection. We ask that exhibitors prepare alternate demonstrations in case of connection problems.
